# Training reports

> Where HR and the training lead see employees' progress: the home page, the student list with a department filter, overdue items, dismissed employees and export to Excel

Exode has no separate report builder. Data on employee training is collected in several places of the
management panel, and almost every list can be exported to a file with its filters applied. In corporate mode,
organization structure filters and a dismissed employees tab are added to them.

## Where to look

| Question | Where to find the answer |
| - | - |
| How many employees are learning and how often they sign in | **Home** |
| Who in a department has not completed a course or missed deadlines | **People → All students** with a department filter |
| How a specific employee is learning | User card → **Learning** |
| Who in a department is ready for promotion | Department → **Employees** → the **Promotion readiness** filter |
| Who is learning in a specific cohort | Course → **Groups** → group → **Students** |
| What was sent to Verifix | **Company → Integrations** → Verifix → **Export journal** |

## Home

**Home** shows a summary for the selected period. In a company, the metrics are:

| Metric | What it counts |
| - | - |
| **Users** | Unique users at the end of the period |
| **Students** | Users who have access to at least one course |
| **Published** | Courses published at the end of the period |
| **Active** | Users who signed in during the period |
| **Completion rate** | The share of “student — course” pairs where all started lessons are completed. A student with three courses counts three times |

The **Course enrollments** chart splits granted access by method: **Assignment** (manually by an administrator),
**Via link** (via an invite link), **Open** (self-enrollment). There is also the
**Users online** chart. A company has no sales and revenue cards.

You need the “Company settings management” permission. Learn more about the home page in
[Main analytics](https://faq.exode.biz/en/general/analytics/main-analytics.md).

## Student list

**People → All students** is the main training report. Each row is an employee in a specific course.

Filters:

* **All departments**: employees of the selected department, including nested ones;
* **Course**, **Group**, **Lesson**, **Curator**;
* **Participant status**: “In progress” or “Completed”;
* **Deadlines**: “Overdue only” or “Without overdue”;
* **Progress** and **Video** ranges in percent, the date added to the course;
* the **Active** and **Dismissed** tabs.

To get a list of people in a department who are overdue on a course, choose the department, the course and “Overdue
only”.

You need the “Course student management” permission.

## User list

**People → All users** shows accounts with the **Department** column. Filters: department
(including nested ones), position, status, registration date, last sign-in date, number of courses.
Tabs: **Active**, **Dismissed**, **Deleted**.

## Export to a file

The student, user and group member lists have an export button. The available formats are
**Export to .xlsx**, **Export to .csv** and **Export to JSON**.

* Exactly what you see is exported: with the filters, tab and sorting applied.
* The file is prepared in the background. For a large list, this takes time.

> [!TIP]
>
> For a monthly department report: open **All students**, choose the department and the course, switch to
> the tab you need and click **Export to .xlsx**.

## Employee progress

User card → the **Learning** tab shows all of the employee's courses. Inside a course, on the
**Progress** tab, you see lessons, video watching, SCORM results, practice attempts and deadlines: “Next deadline”,
“Overdue”, “Handed in late”. Learn more in
[User card](https://faq.exode.biz/en/general/users/user-card.md) and
[Personal analytics](https://faq.exode.biz/en/general/analytics/personal-analytics.md).

## Dismissed employees in reports

* A dismissed employee is not deleted: their progress and learning history are kept.
* In the student, user and group member lists, they move to the **Dismissed** tab and disappear from the
  **Active** tab.
* Dismissed employees are not included in the group member counter.

## Frequently asked questions

> **How do I get a report for one department?**
>
> Open **People → All students**, choose the department in the **All departments** filter and, if needed, the course.
> Then click export. Nested departments are included in the report automatically.

> **How do I find people who are overdue on their training?**
>
> In **All students**, choose “Overdue only” in the **Deadlines** filter. Deadlines are set in the course
> group, see [Group settings](https://faq.exode.biz/en/general/groups/group-settings.md).

> **Why did an employee disappear from the student list?**
>
> Most likely they were dismissed: check the **Dismissed** tab. Their progress is kept.

> **Why is there no revenue in the report?**
>
> In corporate mode courses are free, so sales and revenue metrics are hidden.

> **How do I see everyone who is ready for promotion?**
>
> Open the department, the **Employees** tab, and choose **Promotion readiness → Ready for promotion**.
> See [Grades and growth](https://faq.exode.biz/en/corporate/growth.md).

> **Why can't a department manager see reports?**
>
> A department manager is a mark in the structure, not a set of permissions. Give them administrator permissions,
> for example “Course student management” and “Staff browsing”. See [Roles and permissions](https://faq.exode.biz/en/corporate/roles.md).

> **What does “Completion rate” on the home page mean?**
>
> The share of “student — course” pairs where all started lessons are completed, at the end of the period. Each of a student's courses is a separate pair: a student with three courses counts three times.
