# Where the student sees the certificate

> The certificate on the course page, the “My certificates” section, the public link, the authenticity check and downloading as a PDF.

After completing the course, the student finds the certificate in three places: on the course page, in notifications and in **My certificates**. Every certificate opens on a public verification page, where the student can show it by link, verify it and save it as a PDF.

## On the course page

When the student clicks **Complete the training**, the lesson shows a course completion block. Its content changes as the certificate is issued.

| State | What the student sees |
| - | - |
| The certificate is being issued | **You have completed the training** and **Your certificate is being issued…** — “It will appear here in a few seconds”. The page checks whether it is ready every 5 seconds |
| The certificate is issued | **Certificate received**, the issue date and number, the **Share** and **View** buttons |
| The course does not issue certificates | **You have completed the training** and the **My courses** button |

If the course is part of a course bundle, the student sees **To the training program** instead of the **My courses** button.

## Issue notification

Right after the issue, the student gets the **You have received a certificate** notification with the text “The course «Course name» is completed — your certificate is already in your certificates section”. The **Open certificate** button leads to the certificate page.

## The “My certificates” section

This section collects all of the student's certificates in this school.

**1. Open the section**

In the mobile version and the app, open **Menu → Certificates**. In the **Education** section, choose **Certificates** with the caption “Received certificates”.

**2. Find the certificate**

Each card shows the course name, issue date and certificate number. A page holds 12 certificates, the rest are on the next pages.

**3. Open the certificate**

Click the card or the arrow button. The certificate opens in a new tab.

If there are no certificates yet, the section shows **No certificates yet** — “Certificates will appear here once you complete courses” — and the **Go to catalog** button.

## How to share a certificate

On the course page, click **Share**. The **Share certificate** window opens with the public link: you can copy it or send it with the social network buttons. In the mobile app, the phone's system “Share” menu opens instead of the window.

The certificate link is permanent and opens without signing in. The link ends with a unique code of 12 Latin letters.

## Authenticity verification page

The public page shows the certificate and a bar with the verification status.

| Status | Text on the page |
| - | - |
| The certificate is valid | **Authentic certificate** — “Verified by the exode platform” |
| The validity period has ended | **Certificate has expired** — “This certificate was issued by exode but is no longer valid” |
| The link is wrong | **Certificate not found** — “Check the link or request a new one from whoever issued the certificate” |

The certificate itself has a QR code that leads to the same page. This way, anyone can verify a paper copy with a phone.

### Page language

The verification page and the labels on the certificate are available in Russian, English and Uzbek. The language switcher is in the page header. If you open the certificate from **My certificates** or with the **View** button on the course page, the language matches the student's interface language. If you open the link directly, the language follows the browser settings, and Russian is the default. The student name, course name and signature are not translated.

## Downloading as a PDF

The server does not store a ready PDF file — the browser creates it.

**1. Click “Download PDF”**

The button is in the header of the certificate page. The browser's standard print window opens.

**2. Choose to save as PDF**

In the printer field, choose “Save as PDF”. The page orientation, landscape or portrait, is set by the certificate template.

**3. Save the file**

Browsers usually suggest a file name from the tab title: it contains the student name and the certificate code.

> [!TIP]
>
> On a phone, the button works the same way: it opens the system print window, where you can save the certificate.

## Frequently asked questions

> **The student completed the course, but the certificate did not appear. What should I do?**
>
> Wait a few seconds: while the course page shows **Your certificate is being issued…**, the platform is still issuing the document. If there is no such text and the student sees only **You have completed the training**, the certificate was not issued: certificates were off in the course, no template was selected, or all issue attempts failed. Learn more in [Setting up certificates](https://faq.exode.biz/en/general/gamification/creating-certificates.md).

> **Do I need to sign in to open a certificate?**
>
> No. The verification page is public: anyone with the link or QR code can open it.

> **Why doesn't “My certificates” show the validity period?**
>
> The card in the list shows only the course name, issue date and number. The expiry date is on the certificate itself, in the “Valid until” line.

> **How do I download a certificate as a PDF?**
>
> Open the certificate, click **Download PDF** and choose “Save as PDF” in the print window. There is no separate file on the server — the browser creates the PDF.

> **Can I show the certificate in English?**
>
> Yes. Switch the language in the header of the certificate page. The labels on the certificate become English, and the student name and course name stay as they are.

> **What does an employer see if the certificate has expired?**
>
> The certificate and the **Certificate has expired** bar. The document is not deleted and still opens by link.

> **Why doesn't the context menu open on the certificate page?**
>
> The verification page deliberately blocks the right-click menu and the keyboard shortcuts for developer tools. You can save the certificate with the **Download PDF** button.

> **The student lost the link. Where can they find it?**
>
> In **My certificates** or on the course page: the **Share** button shows the link again. The link does not change.
