It takes a minute. Everything else — design, courses, payments, team — you set up inside the school. ## Before you start * You create a school on welcome.exode.biz, on the **School creation** page. You need an account for this: sign in or register. * You can create one school per account. * By creating a school, you accept the platform's documents — the data processing policy and the public offer. Links to them are under the form. ## How to create a school **1. Enter the school name** The **School name** field takes 3 to 50 characters. There is a character counter under the field. Spaces at the beginning and at the end are removed. Students see the name, and you can change it later. **2. Come up with an address** In the **School's base domain** field, enter an address, for example `my-school`. The school will open at `my-school.exode.biz`. Rules: 3 to 20 characters, only Latin letters, digits and hyphens — the “Latin letters, digits and hyphens” hint under the field reminds you of this. Uppercase letters become lowercase. **3. Wait for the address check** Once you enter 3 characters, the platform checks whether the address is free. A green icon next to the field means the address is free. If it isn't, the reason appears under the field. **4. Click “Create a school”** The button becomes active when both fields are filled in correctly. **5. Go to your new school** The platform opens your school at its address, in **My school → Settings → Information and domain**. At the top you will see the message “School successfully created” and links to the Exode Telegram channel and support. ## What happens on creation * **You become the owner.** You get all school management permissions, and your account becomes an account of this school. * **Demo access is turned on.** You don't need to pay for a tariff right away. The end date of the demo period is shown in **My school → Subscription and tariff**. See [School type](https://faq.exode.biz/en/general/school-creation/school-type.md). * **Registration is open.** Any website visitor can register in the school. You change this in [Login and registration](https://faq.exode.biz/en/general/school-setup/registration-settings.md). * **An organization card is created** with the school name. Fill in the details in [Legal data](https://faq.exode.biz/en/online-schools/legal/overview.md) (commercial schools only). > [!NOTE] > > If you paid for a tariff before creating the school, for example from the tariffs page on exode.biz, the school immediately gets > the paid tariff. The demo days are added to the first paid period. ## First steps after creation **1. Name and slogan** In **Settings → Information and domain**, check the name and add a **School slogan** — up to 100 characters. Changes are saved automatically. **2. Logo and design** Upload a logo and an icon, choose themes and interface languages. Student registration** Decide whether registration is open to everyone, and choose the login methods. See [Login and registration](https://faq.exode.biz/en/general/school-setup/registration-settings.md). **4. Payment acceptance** To sell courses (commercial schools only), connect a payment provider. See [Payment acceptance](https://faq.exode.biz/en/online-schools/sales-payments/accepting-payments). **5. First course** Create a course and fill it with lessons. See [Creating courses](https://faq.exode.biz/en/general/courses/creating-courses.md). **6. Team** Add staff members and grant them permissions. Use only Latin letters, digits and hyphens | ## If something went wrong * **The page says “School has already been created” instead of the form.** Your account already has a school. Click **List of my schools** to go to it, or **Support for exode.biz** if you need another school. * **Someone took the address while you were filling in the form.** After you click **Create a school**, you will see the error “This address is already taken”. Choose another address and submit the form again. * **The form was submitted twice.** A second school won't be created: the platform returns the one already created. ## Frequently asked questions > **Can I create several schools?** > > One school per account. If you need another one, click **Support for exode.biz** on the creation page > and write to Telegram support. > **Do I need a bank card to create a school?** > > No. On creation, demo access without payment is turned on. You will choose a tariff later in **Subscription and tariff**. > **Can I change the name and address later?** > > Yes. You change the name and slogan in **My school → Settings → Information and domain** (in a corporate school — > **Company → Settings → Information and domain**). The address is in the same place, in the **School domain** block > (in a corporate school — **Company domain**). The reason is shown under the field with the error. > **Why is the address “not available for registration”?** > > The platform reserves some addresses, for example service ones. Choose another address. > **Can I use Cyrillic, a dot or an underscore in the address?** > > No. The base address consists only of Latin letters, digits and hyphens. If you need an address on your own domain, > you can connect it through support. > **I paid for a tariff before creating the school. What happens to the payment?** > > The school immediately gets the paid tariff, and the demo days are added to the first paid period. > Create the school from the same account you paid from. > **How do I create a corporate school for employee training?** > > The form creates a school that sells courses.
