Customization helps you style the school to match your brand. You upload an icon and a logo, choose themes and brand colors, and set up the catalog, the left menu, the footer and the interface languages. Website visitors and students in their personal account see all changes right away. ## Where the settings are Open **Control panel → My school** (in a corporate school — **Control panel → Company**). The appearance settings are collected in the **Settings** item. It is in the **For developers** item. ## Name and slogan The **Information and domain** subsection holds the school's main data. In a corporate school, the fields are called **Company name** and **Company slogan**. | Field | Limit | Where it is used | | - | - | - | | **School name** | 3 to 50 characters | Browser tab title, text logo and default catalog title | | **School slogan** | Up to 100 characters | Website description for search engines and default catalog subtitle | ## Who can change the settings * To open and save the school settings, a staff member needs the **School settings management** permission (in a corporate school — **Company settings management**). * The **Legal data** section (commercial schools only) opens with the **School organization management** permission. Permissions are granted in **My school → Team** (in a corporate school — **Company → Administrators**). A change is recorded about a second after you finish typing or choose a value. Such blocks have no **Save** button. These have a separate **Save** button: * choosing tags for catalog tabs; * all blocks of the **Login and registration** section; * the left menu item form; * the legal document form (commercial schools only); * custom code. In blocks with a button, the platform warns you if you try to leave the page without saving your changes. > [!NOTE] > > Saved changes apply right away for all users, including those who already have the school website open. The exception is custom code: it applies after the page is refreshed. ## What students see if you don't set anything up | Element | Default value | | - | - | | Logo | Text from the first 15 characters of the school name | | Icon | Not set. By default — as in the device settings | | Accent color | Orange `#fa6c1c` | | Languages | English, Русский, O'zbekcha | | Left menu | Only built-in items | | Footer | A line with the school name and year, links to documents and the “Powered by exode” label | ## Frequently asked questions > **Why don't I see the “Settings” item in the school section?** > > Your account doesn't have the **School settings management** permission (in a corporate school — **Company settings management**). Ask the school owner to grant it in **My school → Team** (in a corporate school — **Company → Administrators**). > **Do I need to click “Save” after making changes?** > > In most blocks, no. Fields save themselves about a second after you type. The **Save** button exists only in the catalog tabs, in the **Login and registration** section, in the menu item and legal document forms and in custom code. > **When will students see the changes?** > > Right after saving. Open school tabs update without a reload. Custom code applies only after the page is refreshed. > **Can I change fonts or colors that aren't in the settings?** > > In the settings, you can change three colors: the accent color, the primary text color and the confirmation button color. Everything else in the design is changed with custom CSS. There is no separate switch in the settings. You can compare tariffs in [Tariffs](https://faq.exode.biz/en/online-schools/getting-started/subscription-plans.md). > **Do the settings apply in the mobile app?** > > Yes, the icon, themes, colors, languages and left menu items work in the app too. The footer isn't shown in the app — it exists only in the web version of the website. > **What happens if I clear the catalog title?** > > If you have never changed the title, the catalog shows the school name.
