The icon and the logo make the school recognizable. The icon is a square image that appears in the browser tab and next to the school name. The logo is text or an image in the website header. These are two independent settings: you can upload only the icon, only the logo or both. The settings are in **My school → Settings → Design and brand** (in a corporate school — **Company → Settings → Design and brand**), in the **Logo and icon** block. ## School icon The icon is a square image. The platform shows it: * in the browser tab as the website icon; * in the website header to the left of the logo, with rounded corners; * on the login and registration pages; * as the school logo on certificates issued after the icon was uploaded; * as the school avatar in stories and some lesson elements if the author has no photo of their own. **1. Open the upload** Click the square area under the **School icon** heading (in a corporate school — **Company icon**) and choose an image file. **2. Crop the image** An editor opens. The crop frame is always square, you can't stretch it into a rectangle. **3. Confirm the upload** After you confirm, the icon is uploaded and saved automatically. You don't need to click **Save**. To replace the icon, upload a new image to the same area. > [!TIP] > > While the icon is not uploaded, school staff see a button with a picture and a plus sign in the header. It leads straight to this block. Students don't see this button. ## School logo The logo is shown in the website header in the desktop version, to the right of the icon. The block is called **School logo** (in a corporate school — **Company logo**). Above the field there is a mode switch: **Text** or **Image**. ### Text logo In the **Text** mode, enter the text in the **Enter the text for the logo** field. * The maximum length is 15 characters. The counter under the field shows how many characters you have entered. * If you haven't changed the logo, the header shows the first 15 characters of the school name. * If the length isn't enough, the interface hints: **Not long enough? Use the image.** ### Image logo In the **Image** mode, upload a picture to the area under the switch. The crop editor doesn't open for the logo — the file is uploaded as is. Under the upload area there is a hint: **Optimal size: 94x16 pixels, in black-and-white format.** > [!WARNING] > > In the dark theme, the platform inverts the colors of the image logo: black becomes white, and other colors become their opposites. So upload a black logo on a transparent background. A colored logo will look different in the dark theme. The logo fits into the space set aside for it in the header: no wider than 200 pixels and no taller than 44 pixels. A larger picture is scaled down. If the **Image** mode is selected but no picture is uploaded, the header keeps the text logo. ## Which files work | Parameter | Icon | Logo | | - | - | - | | File type | Any image | Any image | | Cropping | Yes, strictly square | No | | Recommended size | Square | 94×16 pixels, black and white | | Number of files | One | One | If you choose a file of another type, for example a document, you will see the message **Incorrect file format**. ## Frequently asked questions > **Why did my logo turn white or change colors?** > > The student has the dark theme on. In the dark theme, the platform inverts the colors of the image logo. Upload a black logo on a transparent background — in the dark theme it becomes white and is easy to read. > **Why can't I enter the full school name in the logo?** > > The text logo is limited to 15 characters. For a long name, switch to the **Image** mode and upload a picture with the text. > **The icon was cropped differently from what I wanted. What should I do?** > > Upload the image again. The editor opens again, and you can choose another square area. > **Can I remove the icon and keep only the logo?** > > The block has no button to delete the icon, you can only replace it. If the icon has never been uploaded, the header shows only the logo. > **Why isn't the logo visible on a phone?** > > The logo appears only in the header of the desktop version of the website. The mobile version and the app don't have it. The school icon is still visible on the login and registration pages. > **Will the logo change on certificates already issued?** > > No. A certificate gets the icon the school had at the moment of issue. The new icon appears only on certificates issued after the replacement.
