Who is who
The general logic of roles is described in User roles,
and working with permissions in Access rights.
Administrator permissions in a company
You grant permissions in Company → Administrators. In corporate mode, the list of permissions is:
The “School sales” and “School refunds” permissions are not shown in a company.
Which permissions the organization structure needs
With the “Staff browsing” permission, an administrator sees the structure but cannot change it. On the department’s
Settings tab, they see a banner saying they have no access.
Department manager
A manager is a mark in the organization structure, not an access permission. It does not give access to the management panel.- A department has one main manager. If you assign a new one, the previous one stops being the main manager.
- You can choose any active company employee as the manager, including someone from another department.
- The manager is shown in the structure tree and on the department invite page.
- The manager gets an in-app notification and an email when their employee meets the conditions of the next grade. See Grades and growth.
- When a person is transferred or changes position, they keep the manager mark. When they are dismissed from this department, the mark is removed.
Course visibility for administrators
In a company, a new course is hidden from other administrators by default. The setting is in the course: Settings → Authors and editors → Visibility for the team.
The course creator is always added to its editors. The setting does not affect employees’ access to training.
Limitations
- You cannot dismiss the company owner: their last department cannot be removed.
- You cannot remove your own last department. The system replies “Cannot remove your own last assignment”.
- Only the owner can change the owner’s data. You cannot block the owner.
- Records managed in Verifix cannot be changed in Exode: “This record is managed in an external system (Verifix) — change it there”.
