How it works
- A story is one image in the vertical 9:16 format with a title and a display time.
- Students see published stories on the My learning page in the Stories block. Stories go in a row, newest first.
- When a student taps a card, the story opens full screen and switches to the next one after the set time. After the last story, the viewer closes.
- When a student has viewed a story, the ring around its card fades. This way the student sees which stories they have not opened yet.
- In the mobile app, stories open in the app’s own full-screen viewer. The content is the same.
Stories do not depend on the tariff: the section is available in any school.
Who can manage stories
The school owner and staff with the School organization management permission (in a corporate school — Company management) can create, edit and delete stories. Staff permissions are set up in My school → Team (in a corporate school — Company → Administrators). Learn more in Access rights. How to create a story
1
Open the stories section
Go to My school → Content and media → Stories (in a corporate school — Company → Content and media → Stories). The Publishing a story page opens with the list of the school’s stories.
2
Click “Add story”
The form for a new story opens.
3
Enter a title
Click the New story heading and enter a title of up to 25 characters. If you leave the field empty, the story is saved with the title “New story”.
4
Choose the duration
In the Duration of the story in seconds field, choose a value from 3 to 15 seconds. The default is 3 seconds.
5
Upload the image
Upload a picture in the Uploading photo field. Before upload, an editor opens: crop the image to the vertical 9:16 format.
6
Upload a cover (optional)
In the Uploading photo preview field, you can upload a square cover for the card in the feed. If there is no cover, the card shows the main image.
7
Choose the status and save
By default, the status toggle is set to Published. To save the story without showing it to students, switch it to Draft. Click Create.
How to edit, hide or delete a story
- Edit. Click the story in the list or open the menu to the right of it and choose Edit. Make your changes and click Save. The Save button appears only when the form has changes.
- Hide. Open the story and switch the toggle to Draft. The story disappears from the students’ feed but stays in the list.
- Delete. In the story menu, choose Delete story and confirm the deletion. A deleted story cannot be restored.
Who sees stories
- All signed-in school users see stories on the My learning page.
- Only stories with the Published status are shown. Students do not see drafts.
- You cannot choose an audience: separate stories for a course, a group or specific students cannot be set up.
- Guests who are not signed in do not see stories: the My learning page opens only after signing in.
Rules and limits
Edge cases
- Saving a published story again. The publication date is updated every time you save a story with the Published status. After an edit, the story moves to the start of the students’ feed.
- Publishing a draft. When you switch a draft to the Published status, the story goes to the start of the feed as a new one.
- More than 15 stories. Students see only the 15 newest published stories. Older ones are not shown in the feed until you delete or hide some of the newer ones.
- Views. A view is recorded once for each student. There are no view statistics in the interface.
- Leaving the page without saving. If the form has unsaved changes, a warning appears when you leave the page.
