You add tasks from the database to lesson practice in a couple of clicks. The lesson gets an independent copy of the task: you can edit it for a specific lesson, and the original in the database stays the same. You can add the same task to any number of lessons and variants.

Adding tasks from the database to practice

1

Open the lesson practice

Open the lesson → Practice → Tasks tab. If the practice has several variants, select the tab of the variant you need: the tasks are added to that variant.
2

Open the task database

In the “Add new task” block, click From task database. The “Task database” panel opens below the list of tasks.
3

Find the tasks

Use the filters: type of answer, complexity, tags and search by questions. If there are many tasks, click Load more.
4

Select the tasks

Select one or more tasks. The Add (N) button appears at the bottom, where N is the number of selected tasks.
5

Add them to the practice

Click Add (N). The tasks go to the end of the selected variant, and the list scrolls to them. You can change the order by dragging or through the task menu.
Employees with the course management permission can add tasks to practice. To see the database list, you need the “Browse task database” or “Task database management” permission. Learn more in Access rights.

How copies work

When you add a task from the database, the platform creates a copy of it with all its content: the question, options, correct answers, content blocks, explanation, tags and difficulty.
  • Edits in a lesson change only the copy. The original in the database and the copies in other lessons do not change.
  • Edits in the database do not affect copies already added. To update a lesson, delete the task from the practice and add the fixed one from the database again.
  • The link to the database is kept. Instead of Add to base, the task menu of a copy shows “Added to base”, and the lesson itself is counted in the Lessons column of the database table.
  • Each addition is a new copy. If you add the same task to a variant twice, the variant will have two identical tasks.
To have the same set of tasks in several variants, build the first variant, then click Duplicate in the variant menu. The variant copy gets copies of all its tasks.

Where a task is used

In the Courses → Task database table:
  • the Lessons column shows how many lessons use copies of the task;
  • hovering over the number shows a list of lessons and courses;
  • the Course and Lesson filters show tasks whose copies were added to the selected course or lesson.

Deleting

  • Delete a task from practice in the task menu: Delete task? → confirmation. The original in the database stays.
  • Delete a task from the database in the database table. The copies in lessons stay and keep working.

Rechecking answers

If you fixed the correct answer in a task copy that students have already answered, click Recheck answers in the task menu in the practice. The answers to this particular copy are rechecked. Learn more in Task types.
