A course bundle combines several of your courses into one product. A student buys the bundle or enrolls in it, and the platform automatically opens the bundle courses to them. In a commercial school, a bundle is handy when you want to sell a whole learning program at its own price.

How it works

  • A bundle is a separate course of the Course bundle type. It has its own settings, design, launch, tariffs (commercial schools only) and groups.
  • A bundle has no lessons of its own. In the Content menu item, you specify which courses it includes.
  • For each course in the bundle, you choose a group of that course. When a student gets access to the bundle, the platform adds them to these groups. This gives them access to the courses themselves.
  • Progress is counted for each course separately.
  • You can add only courses of your own school. You can’t add a bundle to a bundle.

How to create a bundle

1

Create the bundle

In the Courses menu, open Course bundles and click Create a course bundle. Enter the title and, in a commercial school, choose the access type. See Creating courses.
2

Add courses

Open the Content menu item (for a bundle it is called Course list) and click Add course.
3

Choose the course and group

In the Which course are we adding to field, select a course. In the Which group are we adding to field, select a group of that course or Create a new group. The new group gets the name “[Bundle] Bundle name”.
4

Save the list

Click Save. If the bundle contents have changed, the platform asks who the changes apply to. See “Changing the bundle contents”.
5

Set up sales (commercial schools only)

In the Launch and tariffs menu item, create the bundle tariffs. The bundle price doesn’t depend on the prices of the courses inside. See Launch and tariffs. In a corporate school, enrollment in the bundle is set up in the Access & assignments item — see Courses in a company.

Limits

What the student gets

When a student gets access to the bundle — after payment, free enrollment or manual adding — the platform adds them to the groups of the bundle courses in the background. Access to each course then follows the rules of its group: the lesson opening schedule, the access period and deadlines come from that group’s settings. See Group settings.
If a student’s access to the bundle is turned off, the course accesses granted through this bundle are turned off with it.
You can hide a course from the bundle from the catalog. A bundle student can still open its page from the bundle.

Different courses for different tariffs

You can open a different set of courses to different bundle students. To do this, use the condition on bundle groups.
1

Create bundle tariffs with different groups

Tariffs exist only in commercial schools. Each tariff adds the student to its own bundle group. For example, the “Basic” tariff adds them to the “Basic” group, and the “Premium” tariff to the “Premium” group.
2

Limit the course to a group

In the course row, click Limit by group and select the bundle groups. Only students enrolled in the selected groups get access to this course.
If no groups are selected, the course opens to all bundle students.

Course order

Above the course list, there is a Sequential switch.

Changing the bundle contents

When you add or remove courses, or change a group or the group condition, the platform asks you to choose how to save:
With the All participants option, a student who was removed from the group of a removed course loses access to this course if they have no other group in it.

What a bundle doesn’t have

Because a bundle has no lessons of its own, it doesn’t have the protection and lesson order switches, the curator chat, the Gamification, Certificates and Assignment checking menu items, lesson rating or copy creation. These settings are set in each course of the bundle.

Frequently asked questions

Access to the bundle and to all its courses for which the group condition is met. The platform adds the student to the selected course groups automatically, in the background, after they get access to the bundle.
No. Access to the bundle courses is granted through groups, so the courses’ own launches and tariffs are not needed for this. If a course shouldn’t be sold separately, hide it from the catalog or don’t create tariffs for it.
Up to 50. When a bundle has 50 courses, the Add course button disappears.
No. You can add only video courses and text courses of your school to a bundle.
Only if you chose All participants when saving. With the Only for new participants option, only those who enroll in the bundle after the change get the new course.
With the Only for new participants option, current students keep access to the course. With the All participants option, they are removed from this course’s group. If the student has no other group in the course, access to the course is closed.
Check three things: whether the Limit by group condition is met for the student, whether sequential mode is on, and whether the content changes were applied to all participants. In sequential mode, the next course opens only after the current one is completed.
Turn on Sequential and choose Set manually. Put the courses in the right order by dragging them.
The access period is set in the group settings. For a bundle course, the settings of the course group the student is added to apply. See Group settings.
Create bundle tariffs with different groups and choose Limit by group in the course rows. Learn more in the “Different courses for different tariffs” section.
